Queen Esther, an emergent force in the Old Testament's Book of Esther, inspired the creation of my Spiritual Warrior plate series. The series attempts to highlight and inspire African American worship traditions. Esther is a Hebraic word having Persian influence. This early testament scripture captures an historical event during which the children of Israel are held captive. As an artist, I strived to represent the concept of reverence.
